When you complete a contact form, submit a pitch, subscribe to communications, or otherwise reach out to us, we collect the information you submit — typically your name, email address, company affiliation, role or title, phone number (if provided), and the content of your message or submission.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect technical and usage information, including your IP address, device type, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, and approximate geographic location derived from your IP address. This information is collected through cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, and similar technologies.
Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from analytics providers, identity-resolution and data-enrichment services (including ZoomInfo and similar business intelligence providers), advertising and marketing platforms, and publicly available sources such as LinkedIn and company websites. This information may include business contact details, professional history, company size and industry, and engagement signals associated with your visit.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Site, understand how visitors use it, and improve our outreach. The categories of tools currently in use include strictly necessary cookies required for the Site to function, analytics cookies including Google Analytics 4, identity-resolution and visitor-intelligence pixels including ZoomInfo and similar B2B identification services, and marketing and advertising tags that allow us to measure the effectiveness of our outreach.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Disabling cookies may affect Site functionality. For Google Analytics specifically, you may opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
How We Use Personal Information
We use the personal information described above to respond to inquiries, evaluate investment opportunities, and communicate with founders, limited partners, and other counterparties; to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site; to analyze Site usage and understand the audience interacting with our content; to conduct business development outreach to companies and individuals whose work is relevant to our investment focus; to send communications about our portfolio, programs (including the CISO Network), and firm updates, where permitted; and to comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect the rights, property, or safety of Brightmind, our portfolio companies, and others.
How We Share Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We may share personal information with service providers that support our operations (including hosting, analytics, identity resolution, CRM, email, and security providers) under contractual obligations to use information only for the services they provide to us; with portfolio companies and co-investors where you have submitted information relevant to a potential investment, partnership, or advisory engagement; with professional advisors, including legal, accounting, and compliance counsel; with authorities and regulators where required by law, legal process, or to protect legal rights; and with successors in interest in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, financing, or sale of assets.
Some of the analytics and advertising technologies used on the Site may constitute "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes under California law. See the California section below for your rights and how to exercise them.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by data category and use case.
