About
Onum · Acquired by CrowdStrike, August 2025
Onum, founded in 2022 by Pedro Castillo and team, built a real-time telemetry pipeline platform on a stateless, in-memory architecture designed to transform data into intelligence at the point of ingestion rather than after the fact. The platform's in-pipeline filtering and detection deliver up to five times more events per second than its nearest competitor while cutting downstream storage and ingestion costs significantly — economics that became strategic as enterprise SOCs faced exploding telemetry volumes from cloud and AI workloads.
Brightmind supported the Onum team during the sale process that culminated in CrowdStrike's agreement to acquire the company, announced August 27, 2025. Onum's technology is being integrated into CrowdStrike Falcon Next-Gen SIEM, eliminating the data migration bottleneck that historically slowed SOC transformation and delivering real-time, in-pipeline detection inside the Falcon platform.
The Onum outcome reflects the same thesis behind Chronosphere's acquisition by Palo Alto Networks: the data and telemetry substrate has become inseparable from the security control plane, and the platforms that own pipeline intelligence become foundational to AI-era operations.
